I bought this as a backup for my new 7d. I decided to go with the name brand this time. I had a third party battery backup for my Rebel and it only lasted a year. Nothing worse than shooting away thinking the spare in your pocket is on deck any minute – wait for a break in the action to make the battery switch and popping in a dead battery. Ouch, that hurt.
